TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo initiated a creative contest of recycling campaign attributes during the silent period of the 2019 general elections. Ganjar runs the competition after clearing campaign banners in his region.
The governor announced the competition through a video posted on his Instagram account on Sunday, April 14. “The silent period starts today [Sunday], so we take down all campaign attributes together. Rather than they become waste, I hold this contest,” he said.
Most of the campaign attributes, Ganjar went on, made of plastics and those non-degradable ones. Thus, he provided Rp20 million for those who able to convert the waste into a useful product.
“This reward is for ten winners who have creative concepts in utilizing used campaign attributes.”

Ganjar does not limit the form of products made from plastic waste as long as it is beneficial to the public. “You are allowed to create something made of the existing campaign attributes. The assessment will be based on its function, durability, and reduplication,” he underlined.
Ganjar Pranowo was waiting for creative people to send their works to the official residence of the Central Java Governor on Jl. Gubernur Boediono No. 8, Gajah Mungkur, Semarang. The chosen recycle products will be displayed on his Instagram page. “I will wait for it until next week on April 22, 2019,” Ganjar concluded.
